Ron Payne

EAST PRAIRIE - Ron Payne, 61, died Oct. 15, 2002, at his home.

Born July 1, 1941, in Wyatt, son of the late Percy W. and Isadora Gregory Payne, he lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He retired as a maintenance technician for the Gates Rubber Company in Charleston and was a member of the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie.

On May 2, 1987, at Wyatt, he married Georgia Ruth Parker who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Clifford Payne of Sikeston; two daughters, Rhonda Nolen of Bertrand and Cyndi Payne of Sikeston; one stepdaughter, Carla Gibson of Gosnell, Ark.; one brother, Percy Payne of Florissant; three sisters, Judy Holifield of Fort Bragg, N.C., Sharon Coupples of Henderson, Tenn., and Mary Lee Holman of Cairo, Ill.; and five grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

One sister, Sheila Kaye Payne, preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. Thursday until service time at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home. Mike Johnson will officiate.

Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
