DEXTER - Ruth Sprinkle, 89, died Oct. 15, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.

Born Aug. 29, 1913, at Fayette, Ala., daughter of the late Noah and Maude Whitley Parris, she had been employed by the Brown Shoe Company in Bernie and Swift and Company in Dexter before retiring. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Dexter.

On March 16, 1956, at Alton, Ill., she married J.D. Sprinkle who preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1961.

Survivors include: five daughters, Ruth Black, JoAnn Burleson and Sharon Kirkman of Dexter, Nellie Stewart of Cuba, Mo., and Sue Murphy of Jefferson City; two sisters, Bonnie Haga of Dexter and Edith Beggs of Eureka; and 23 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were three sons, Jack Kirkman, Charles Kirkman and Frankie Kirkman; and four brothers, Robert Parris, George Parris, Paul Parris and Walter Parris.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Jimmy Kirby will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
