Lena Elledge

ST. CHARLES - Lena Jane Elledge, 91, died April 28, 2002, at the Blanchette Place Care Center in St. Charles.

Born Sept. 22, 1910, in Lutesville, daughter of the late William Frederick and Anna Emeline Liley Eaker, she was a member of Prospect General Baptist Church in Lake St. Louis. She and her husband entered the ministry in 1940 and had served as pastor of 10 churches in Missouri before retiring in 1975.

On Dec. 24, 1928, at Lutesville, she married the Rev. William Elledge who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Lee Elledge of Collinsville, Ill.; one brother, Billy Gene Eaker of Little Rock, Ark.; two sisters, Ruby Funk of Hudson, N.Y., and Eula Newell of St. Louis; and one grandson, Chris C. Elledge of Collinsville.

Two sons, John Edwin Elledge and William "Chan" Elledge, preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Denver Eaker and the Rev. Norman Elledge will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
