SIKESTON - The Rev. Rupert "Bob" Lane, 92, died at 10:05 a.m. April 29, 2002, at the Clearview Nursing Center.

Born July 12, 1909, in Anniston, son of the late Samuel and Ollie Lee Griffin Lane, he was a minister for the General Baptist Association for the past 35 years and was the current minister at Elm Grove General Baptist Church in Naylor.

On May 22, 1928, in New Madrid, he married Gertrude May "Gertie" Casteel who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Maxine McGee, Mary Lee Hailey and Barbara Bartlett of Sikeston; one sister, Estelle Cathey of Poplar Bluff; and six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, two brothers, one sister, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Alan J. Wollenburg, pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn.

Pallbearers will be: David Porter, Joe Davis, Lloyd Lively, Hershel Hailey, Frank McDowell and Michael Kirchhoffer.
