Horace Jones

BROWNSVILLE, Texas - Horace Ray Jones, 70, died July 2, 2002, in Longview after a long illness.

Born Aug. 14, 1931, in Clarendon, Ark., son of Alma Jones Kline of Atkins, Ark., he lived in Brownsville before recently moving to Longview where he had previously lived 23 years earlier. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He married Helen Foster who preceded him in death.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Rusty and Pam Jones of Longview and Jeff and Jeanne Jones of Hallsville; two stepsons; three stepdaughters, Daria Foster Sanford, Lisa Foster and Dawn Foster, addresses unavailable; two brothers, Bert Jones of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Arnold Jones of Little Rock, Ark.; two sisters, his twin Doris Smith of Nashville, Tenn., and Catherine Carter of Atkins; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will begin at noon Saturday at the DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, Mo., where services are scheduled for 2 p.m.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery in Portageville.
