Carl Raines
SCOTT CITY - Carl James Raines, 60, died at 12:18 a.m. July 3, 2002, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City.
Born April 15, 1942, in Ancell, son of the late Jessie Joseph and Hattie Belle Cook Raines, he worked 35 years as a dredge equipment operator for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include: one daughter, Ronica Hayes of Danbury, Texas; four brothers, Vernon Raines of Scott City, Cleatus Raines and David Raines of Tucson, Ariz., and Jim Raines of Decatur, Ind.; four sisters, Jessica VerStaeegt of Springboro, Ohio, Mary Alice Knecht and Linda Needham of Tucson, and Jo Ann Green of Decatur.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. Saturday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City where services are scheduled for 9 a.m. Sunday with the Rev. Randy Morse officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
Pallbearers will be: Roger Raines, Dayton King, Lanny Koch, Beth Cagle, Charles Schwartz, Joe Casebolt, Mike Raines and Danny Skinner.
