Cliff Morris
SIKESTON - Clifford Beanum "Cliff" Morris, 75, died at 5:30 a.m. June 4, 2002, at his home.
Born July 12, 1926, in Mississippi County, son of the late Clifford Keasler and Eva May Justice Morris, he was an agent with State Farm Insurance. He served as a technical sergeant with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston. A 50-year Mason, Morris was also a member of Masonic Lodge 568 AF&AM, American Legion Post 114, VFW Post 3174, Rotary Club, Elks Lodge 2319 and Eagles Aerie 3319, all of Sikeston, and the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce. During his 35-year career with State Farm Insurance, he was selected as a feature agent in the 1970s for the company's national magazine's advertising campaign.
On May 20, 1950, at Chaffee, he married Carol Maxine White who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Clifford B. and Christine Morris Jr. of Eldorado, Ill., and Kenneth Lee and Charlotte Morris of St. Charles; one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Dan Kelleher of Boerne, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Edgar and Margaret Morris of Mobile, Ala., and Dr. David and Nannette Morris of Sikeston; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Orville Lanksford of Memphis, Tenn., and Pearl and Adolph DeBoard of Wood River, Ill.; and six grandchildren, Clifford "Kip" Morris III of San Francisco, Calif., Tiffany Morris of Overland Park, Kan., Bethany Morris of Eldorado, Blaine and Sherri Morris of Austin, Texas, Valerie Morris and Marshall Morris of St. Charles.
He was preceded in death by one brother, R.L. Morris; and two sisters, Carrie Raben and Opal Nicholson.
Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel where Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. William F. Koch, pastor, and the Rev. Sandy Schaller, associate pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: LeRoy Heaton, Percy Clippard, Donald Wall, Eugene Morris, Earl Hutchison and Bill Raben.
