Opal Marion

ST. CHARLES - Opal Marion, 91, died Dec. 22, 2002, at the Blanchett Place in St. Charles.

Born Oct. 18, 1911, in Portageville, daughter of the late Olive E. and Etta Boatwright LaFont, she was a member of the All Saints Church in St. Peters. She had been a nurse and was active in the 4-H Sewing Project in the New Madrid County region.

On Oct. 24, 1934, in New Madrid, she married Luke H. Marion who preceded her in death on June 20, 1984.

Survivors include: one son, Bernard Marion of St. Charles; one daughter, Sharon McNeil of Troy, Mo.; one sister, Delphia Eftink of Oran; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were an infant daughter, Catherine Marion and a brother, Jack LaFont.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Eustachius Catholic Church in Portageville with the Rev. Edward Eftink officiating.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
