Lavine Carter
MURRAY, Ky. - Lavine Inman Carter, 91, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died June 18, 2002, at the West View Nursing Home in Murray.
Born June 16, 1911, in Sikeston, daughter of the late Lige N. and Eliza Ann Mandrell Inman, she lived in Sikeston most of her life, where she worked in the office of International Shoe Company for many years before retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church in Murray.
On Nov. 8, 1930, she married Elden Lynear Carter who preceded her in death on April 9, 1982.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Marcia Deanne Carter; one brother, Ernest N. Inman; and two sisters, Lucille Inman Matthews and Irene Inman Donnan.
Survivors include: three nephews, Dick Inman and Gerald Inman of Sikeston and Bill Matthews of Sullivan, Mo.; three nieces, Betty Jo Matthews Council of Monroe, Wash., Judy Matthews Parker of Aztec, N.M., and Emma Lee Donnan of Portland, Ore.; and several great- nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will assemble at 2 p.m. Saturday for graveside services at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston. The Rev. Todd Buck, pastor of Elm Grove Baptist Church, will officiate.
Pallbearers will be: Gerald Inman, Dick Inman, Gerry Inman, Tom Ryan, Bill Matthews and Don Pratt.
McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
