Alma Fortner

ZALMA - Alma Jean Fortner, 66, died Nov. 10, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born May 5, 1937, at Zalma, daughter of the late Leo and Letha Ladd Whitehead, she attended Balch Chapel Church near Zalma.

On Oct. 11, 1954, at Essex, she married Ernest E. Fortner who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Sandra Moseley of DeKalb, Ill., and Teresa Tuttle of Irving, Texas; two brothers, Bill Whitehead of Advance and Ronald Whitehead of Corsicana, Texas; four sisters, Mary Lee Fisher and Janice Snyder of Marble Hill, Shirley Carton of Zalma and Donna Hellings of Panama City Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

One brother, Garry Whitehead, preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Terry Scott will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Balch Cemetery near Zalma.
