Cletis Deal

LILBOURN - Cletis H. Deal, 82, died Nov. 10, 2003, at Forest Park Hospital in St. Louis.

Born April 10, 1921, at Morley, son of the late Joseph H. and Lena E. Hanley Deal, he retired as an ironworker and welder with Local 396. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lilbourn where he served as a deacon, was an honorary usher and sang with the choir.

On March 3, 1941, he married Juanita Moss who preceded him in death on Sept. 3, 1990.

Survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Carole Hajek of St. Louis and Gina and Gary Smith of Imperial; one brother, Herschel Deal of Sikeston; one sister, Katherine Wethington of Sikeston; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Brian and Kendall Smith of Imperial; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb Smith and Kylie Smith of Imperial.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Leroy Deal, Owen Deal and Loren Deal; and a grandson, Gary Hajek Jr.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Bob Medlock will officiate.

Burial will follow in Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn.
