PUXICO - Mary Lucille Crews, 89, formerly of Sikeston, died Nov. 3, 2004, at the Puxico Nursing and Rehab Center. PUXICO - Mary Lucille Crews, 89, formerly of Sikeston, died Nov. 3, 2004, at the Puxico Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born Sept. 4, 1915, in Piggott, Ark., daughter of the late Wiley Price and Iva Templeton Thomas, she was a 50-year member of both the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston and Order of the Eastern Star. She was a teacher's aide and co-owner of the Crews-Welsh Funeral Home in Sikeston before retiring.

On Sept. 28, 1933, she married George Raymond Crews who preceded her in death on March 28, 1999.

Survivors include: two sons, George W. Crews of Memphis, Tenn., and Gene R. Crews of Perth, Western Australia; two daughters, Mona Rhea Foster of Puxico and Mary Christine Kane of Sarasota, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Thomas and Ray Thomas; and one sister, Myrtle Lowery.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. Friday until service time at 1 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Harold Norton, pastor of senior adult ministries for the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Piggott City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons: Andy Foster, Tim Jarvis, Scott Jarvis, Ben Conners, Josh Delay, Clay Knych and Hunter Deen.
