BLOOMFIELD - James Ernest McCollum, 68, died May 4, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Oct. 16, 1938, at Bloomfield, son of the late Ernest and Lois Black McCollum, he was a lifelong resident of Bloomfield. He was an owner/operator truck driver for over 40 years.

On Sept. 26, 1958, he married Janice Stoker, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: four sons, Ernest Lee McCollum, James Dean McCollum, Randal Gene McCollum and Franklin Aud McCollum, all of Bloomfield; six sisters, Helen Launius and Ruth Ann Standridge of Moorpark, Calif., Virginia Pullum and Elaine Launius of Bloomfield, and Audrey Duncan and Kathryn Hyslop of Dexter; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held today at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The Rev. Bob Holland officiated.

Burial followed in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
