SIKESTON - Peggy J. Sadler, 71, died May 5, 2007, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Oct. 21, 1935, in East Prairie, daughter of the late Webb Kenneth and Roxie Lee Majors DeField, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the Chancel Choir and was a member of the Lamplighter Sunday School Class and a member of various bridge clubs.

She raised and showed quarter horses and had been a loan officer for Security Federal Savings and Loan for over 20 years before retiring. She was a former member of First Baptist Church and the Altrusa Club of Sikeston.

On Aug. 9, 1953, she married Milton Sadler, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Kenneth Sadler of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Philip Black of Sikeston; one sister, Mary Ann Malone of Sikeston; eight grandchildren, Kerri Beth Bailey, Eric Don Sadler, Emily Ward Sadler, Zachary Kyle Black, Cody Tyler Black and Colton Michael Black, all of Sikeston, and Michael Glenn Sadler II and Colleen Elizabeth Sadler of Cape Girardeau; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Sadler.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Geoff Posegate and the Rev. Jeremiah Reeve, pastors of First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
