Bob Rogers
GRANT CITY - Robert Bruce "Bob" Rogers, 73, formerly of North Carolina, died at 6:30 p.m. May 5, 2007, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
Born Oct. 20, 1933, in Fair Bluff, N.C., to the late Ollie and Essie Strickland Rogers, he was a retired millwright. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 828 in Chicago Heights and of the Baptist belief.
He was first married to Juanita Rogers.
On Jan. 30, 1973, in Chicago, he married Betty Brewer, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Milton Thomas Rogers and Robert Gene Rogers of Chicago; one daughter, Helen Marie "Cookie" Rogers of the state of Colorado; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Brenda Garver of the home and Margie Brewer of Benton.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Cora Edwards and the Rev. Millie Burnes, ministers of the House of Prayer at Grant City, will officiate.
Burial will follow at a later date in the New Morley Cemetery at Morley.
