COLUMBIA - Miss Margaret Gray Anthony of Sikeston, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W.A. Anthony, and Miss Mary Emma Allen of Sikeston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.B. Allen, were members of the class of 683 college and high school students who received their diplomas at the 110th annual commencement exercises at Stephens College.

SIKESTON - Mrs. Elmer Childress fell and injured a knee Saturday afternoon. She was taken by Welsh ambulance to a physician's office for X-rays.
SIKESTON - The Sikeston Public Library this summer will have an open house to show the public a new addition on the north side of the building. Another space on the west side provides space for additional book stacks, tables and a reading room.
BLOOMFIELD - Mike Perry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Perry, graduated from Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky., on May 29. He received a bachelor of arts degree in English.

SIKESTON - Elks Lodges around the country conducted ceremonies for Flag Day as did the Sikeston Elks Lodge at Veteran's Park. During the program, Elks members told those in attendance about each of the flags that once flew for America. Boy Scout Troop 42 participated in the ceremonies.
