SIKESTON - John H. "Sonny" Hollaway, 76, formerly of Kennett, died May 22, 2004, at his home in Sikeston.

Born Dec. 8, 1927, in Flint, Mich., son of the late Theodore and Mary C. Gargas Hollaway, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He first married to Anna Yvonne Bess on Jan. 1, 1950. She preceded him in death in 1986. On Oct. 17, 1987, he married Wanda Lemonds Smith, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Jan Farrenburg of New Madrid and Karen Hollaway of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., one stepdaughter, Sara Smith of St. Louis; and one grandchild, Christopher Porter of Sikeston.

He was also preceded in death by a half brother, Zeke Wells.

Services were conducted today at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. The Rev. Ed Jansson officiated.

Burial followed in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were: Christopher Porter, Jim Farrenburg, Roland Morgan, Jim Hayes and Joe Morris.
