CHARLESTON -- Sally Joyce Cox, 72, died at 6:40 p.m. May 22, 2004, at the Bertrand Nursing Center.
Born March 28, 1932, in East Prairie, daughter of the late Charlie E. and Edna Dalton Thurman, she had lived most of her life in Mississippi County and was a member of the Bridges United Methodist Church.
On Sept. 1, 1951, she married Harold Richard Cox who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sisters, Doris Graham and Pat Stark of Springfield; three grandchildren, Daniel Eugene Cox, Jennifer Rose Lutz and Kristine Stephanie Cox of Sikeston; and four great-grandchildren.
Two sons, John David Cox and Harold Allen Cox; one brother, Charles Thurman; and three sisters, Louise Wiseman, Nellie Miller and Edith Ivie, preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Jim Quist, pastor of the Bridges Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Don Stracener, Delmar Baker, Steve McClanahan, Jerry Grice, Hoyt Barnes and David Kindle.
