ST. LOUIS -- A Sikeston woman died Wednesday at a St. Louis hospital from injuries she received when she slipped and fell down a bluff into Current River.
According to the Missouri State Water Patrol, Mary Story Yarbrough, 25, died at 5:46 a.m. at St. Louis University Hospital. She had been severely injured in an accident at 4 p.m. Saturday at Shote Hole, north of Van Buren.
The Water Patrol said Yarbrough was climbing a bluff, planning to jump into the river when she slipped and fell, landing in the river. She was flown to a hospital in Cape Girardeau, then transferred to the St. Louis hospital.
