CANALOU - Earl Edward Johnson, 89, died July 28, 2005, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.
Born Sept. 6, 1915, in Scottsville, Ark., son of the late Albert S. and Myrtle Iva Harmon Johnson, he was a farmer and of the Assembly of God faith.
On Aug. 21, 1943, in Russellville, Ark., he married Inez Edwards who preceded him in death on Oct. 20, 1998.
One daughter, Ilena Johnson; one grandson, Eddie Johnson; five brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: two sons, Carl E. Johnson of Morehouse and Thomas E. Johnson of Marble Hill; three daughters, Wilma Dear of St. Charles, Iva Griffin of Webb City and Patricia Pointer of Matthews; one brother, Jeff Johnson of Dover, Ark.; two sisters, Anna Bixler of Sikeston and Lenora Crutchfield of Lamar, Ark.; a special nephew, Eugene Johnson; and 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. Tuesday until services time at 1 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Mike Cartwright, pastor of the Canalou Assembly of God Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Timmy Johnson, Brian Johnson, Blake Pointer, Aaron Pointer, Jeff Johnson, Joel Griffin and Chris Johnson.
