ORAN - Myrtle May McClain, 72, died at 3:15 p.m. Aug. 1, 2002, at her home.

Born Feb. 24, 1930, in Chaffee, daughter of the late Carl and Annie Brown Hubbard, she retired as a lacer for Florsheim Shoe Company in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of Lively Hope Church in Oran.

On March 1, 1946, she married Millard A. McClain who preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1979.

Survivors include: three sons, Charles McClain and Andie McClain of Oran and Bennie McClain of Scott City; four daughters, Audrey Hostenfeld and Darlene McClain of Oran, Linda Burrell of East Prairie and Doris Baker of Brookport, Ill.; one brother, Frank Hubbard of Charleston; one sister, Juanita Layton of Dexter; and 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

One son, two brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.

Visitation begins at 2 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Jim Simmons will officiate.

Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
