Christopher Johnson
EAST PRAIRIE - Christopher Lee Johnson, 26, died at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 15, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Dec. 20, 1975, in Charleston, son of Jimmy Fenton and Barbara Sue Floyd Johnson of Sikeston, he lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He was a 1995 graduate of East Prairie High School, where he was a first-team All-State running back, first-team All-District offense, first-team All Conference offense and defense and the SEMO leading point scorer for the 1994 East Prairie football team. Johnson graduated in 2001 from the SEMO Policy Academy in Cape Girardeau and was a public safety officer with the East Prairie Police Department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and attended the First Church of God in East Prairie.
On July 19, 1997, he married Susan Elizabeth Wallace who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and parents include: one daughter, Autumn Michelle Johnson of the home; one brother, Steven Allen Dunn of Wichita, Kan.; and six nieces and nephews.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rob Kespelher and Randy Lemmons officiating.
Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
The East Prairie chief of police and police officers will serve as pallbearers.
