Lila Beeson

EAST PRAIRIE - Lila Mae Beeson, 77, died July 10, 2002.

Born Aug. 13, 1924, in Sikeston, daughter of the late Clarence Cecil and Lorene Grace Reed Sutton, she was a member of Barnes Ridge Baptist Church. She was a licensed practical nurse at Missouri Delta Medical Center, retiring in 1986.

On Feb. 25, 1940, near Doniphan, she married Cecil Beeson who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Sherri and Charles Beeson of East Prairie and Cleo and Peggy Beeson of Advance; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Rev. Ernie Kight of Abilene, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Margaret Sutton of Matthews; eight grandchildren, Kyril Chapin of Albertsville, Minn., John Kight of Coleman, Texas, Jeffrey Kight and Rebekah Kight of Abilene, Texas, Cleo Maurice Beeson Jr. of Advance, Jami Lynn Burnett of Zalma, Claudia Beeson of Sikeston and Charlie Beeson of East Prairie; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Tom McCanless, pastor of Kewanee Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
