Maujeva Overfield
CHAFFEE -- Maujeva Louise Overfield, 60, died at 5 p.m. Feb. 26, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born May 17, 1947, at St. Louis, to the late Dennis Eugene and Goldie McBride LaCroix, she had worked as a presser for Bohannon Cleaners in Scott City and as a clerk for Dollar General Store in Chaffee. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and Daughters of St. Ambrose in Chaffee. She served for two years as a Cub Scout leader and for two years as an assistant Brownie leader in Chaffee. For five years, she served on the Pastor Parish Relations Committee in Scott City, and was a member of the Chaffee Booster Club.
On March 10, 1978, she married Edward R. Overfield, and he preceded her in death on May 6, 1988.
One brother and one sister also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Brandi Overfield of Oran; one daughter, Jorell Overfield of Columbia; one brother, Ed LaCroix of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters, Carol Matteson of West Port, Wash. and Dee LaCroix of Scott City; and three grandchildren, Blake Overfield, Connor Overfield and Paige Overfield of Oran.
Visitation is at 4 p.m. Sunday, with parish prayers at 6:30 p.m., at the Amick-
Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating.
Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
