Ervin Schaefer

BENTON - Ervin Zeno Schaefer, 92, of Burbank, Calif., and formerly of Benton, died Jan. 21, 2002, at his home.

Born Nov. 11, 1909, in Benton, son of the late Adam C. and Carol E. Halter Schaefer, he worked at the Atlas Powder Company in Wolf Lake, Ill., before joining the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his discharge from the Navy, he made his home in Burbank where he was a member of the Catholic Church.

Surviving are his sister, Lucille LeDure of Benton; and five nephews.

Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

A memorial graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Denis Cemetery in Benton.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
