Jack Bledsoe

SIKESTON - Leaston "Jack" Bledsoe, 79, died at 3 a.m. Feb. 4, 2002, at the Miner Nursing Center.

Born Nov. 23, 1922, in Westport, Tenn., son of the late James Thomas and Era Baccum Bledsoe, he had been employed by the Associated Natural Gas Company and was of the Church of Christ belief.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Nancy Bledsoe of Kelso; three daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and Darrell Ray of Sikeston, Betty and Richard Long of Nashville, Tenn., and Shirley and Richard Phillips of Cape Girardeau; one brother and sister-in-law, Hollis and Rose Bledsoe of Avoca, Iowa; and 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

The Rev. Oliver Clavin, pastor of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Art Ray, Darrell W. Ray, Buddy Cox, Tim Reeves, Richard K. Couch and Jay Staniszewski.
