Wilburn Grant

SIKESTON - Wilburn L. Grant, 74, died at 11:30 a.m. June 4, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born April 24, 1928, in Johnston City, Ill., son of the late Charles and Altha Grissom Grant, he was a staff sergeant with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. A member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church in Evansville, Ind., he was a warehouse manager for the Wohl Shoe Company in Sikeston, retiring in 1993.

On Feb. 18, 1949, in Johnston City, he married Audrey Pearce who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, David and Louise Grant of St. Louis; and two grandchildren.

Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Carl Cottingham, officiating.

Graveside military rites will be conducted at the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City by members of the Marion (Ill.) VFW Post.
