Sophia Edwards

LILBOURN - Sophia Helen Edwards, 90, died May 18, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare in New Madrid.

Born Sept. 13, 1911, in Obion, Tenn., daughter of the late N.E. and Mary Berry Morgan, she was of the Baptist belief.

On May 8, 1926, in Essex, she married Aaron Edwards who preceded her in death on July 12, 1979.

Survivors include: three daughters, Marjorie Rudd of Alton, Maxine Kinsey of Campbell and Merle Baker of Vinta, Okla.; four sons, Ed Edwards of Winamac, Ind., J.B. Edwards of San Diego, Calif., Doyle Edwards of Sikeston and Roy Edwards of Lilbourn; and 31 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, J.L. Morgan; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Richard Todd, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Taylor Cemetery at Essex.

Her grandsons and great-grandson will serve as pallbearers.
