Nelson Gruen

MATTHEWS -- Nelson Raymond Gruen, 88, died at 10:55 p.m. Oct. 9, 2002, at Sells Rest Home.

Born Jan. 18, 1914, in Madison County, Ill., son of the late Charles and Amelia Louise Friedhoff Gruen, he was a farmer and of the Methodist belief.

On June 2, 1946, in Barlow, Ky., he married Mattie Shepard who preceded him in death on March 31, 2001.

Survivors include: one son, Willard E. Gruen of Columbia; one daughter, Mary Ann Robinson of Poplar Bluff; and two grandsons, John K. Robinson of Poplar Bluff and Brian A. Robinson of Fayetteville, Ark.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
