Rudy Wibbenmeyer

SIKESTON - Rudolph Joseph Wibbenmeyer, 87, died at 10:50 a.m. Feb. 15, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Oct. 10, 1914, at Biehle, son of the late Theodore F. and Louisa E. Meyer Wibbenmeyer, he was a route salesman for 15 years with Locke Distributing Co. of Cape Girardeau. He had also been a life insurance agent for Ozark National Life Insurance Co. and had worked several years for Terminix International until he retired in 1983. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 3151.

On June 3, 1946, in Apple Creek, he married Virginia G. Ponder who preceded him in death Sept. 12, 2001.

He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Martha Wibbenmeyer of Fishers, Ind., and Kenny and Teresa Wibbenmeyer and Rickey and Karan Wibbenmeyer of Sikeston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanie and Rich Wrather and Shirley and Jim McCall of Sikeston; two brothers, Joseph Wibbenmeyer and Thomas Wibbenmeyer of Perryville; two sisters, Luella Musso of Perryville and Flora Jansen of St. Louis; and 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Steven Schneider of Sikeston and Jim Unterreiner of Ironton will be officiate.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Ben Wrather, Rickey Wrather, Sean Wibbenmeyer, Justin Wibbenmeyer, Bruce Wibbenmeyer and Darin McCall.
