Patricia Newsom
LILBOURN - Patricia Ann Newsom, 53, died Feb. 13, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Jan. 27, 1949, in Marston, daughter of Lola B. Lee of Howardville, she attended public school in Howardville. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Lilbourn, where she sang in the senior choir and was president of the Women's Missionary Union. She was employed as a private duty nurse and formerly worked with Meals on Wheels.
On Aug. 25, 1967, she married Tommy Newsom who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: five daughters, Pamela Williams of Chicago, Ill., Paula Newsom and Deirdre Stevenson of Lilbourn and Mineka Newsom and Terrlyn Newsom of New Madrid; three brothers, Roosevelt Durden of Huntsville, Ala., Lavelle Durden Sr. of Kansas City and Johnnie Durden of Gary, Ind.; nine sisters, Mary House of Dowagiac, Mich., Bonnie Mays of Chicago, Marie Lee of Danville, Ill., Willie Bell Willis of Rockford, Ill., Osci Booker, Lidia James and Pearlie Durden of Portageville, Lovie Sanders of Milwaukee, Wis., and Marilyn Durden of Chicago; and 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home in Howardville.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the New Life, New Beginning World Outreach Center in Lilbourn. Kenneth Holloway, pastor of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Simmons Park Cemetery in Catron.
