Joan Schwartz

SCOTT CITY - Ruth "Joan" Schwartz, 73, died at 3:10 a.m. June 18, 2004, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born Dec. 24, 1930, in Yankton, S.D., daughter of the late James Frank and Alyce Ellen Fallon Ross, she was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso.

On May 24, 1955, at Benton, she married Albert George Schwartz Jr. who preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1969.

Survivors include: one son, James Schwartz of Bloomington, Ill.; three daughters, Mary Loos and Norma Robinette of Jackson and Phyllis Stehlin of St. Charles; three brothers, Robert Ross of Chaffee, Tom Ross of Benton and Bill Ross of St. Louis; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, where a parish rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Catholic Church with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery at Kelso.
