Mildred Hill

EAST PRAIRIE - Mildred Louise Hill, 59, died at 3:38 p.m. Dec. 3, 2002, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Born Sept. 4, 1943, in Hayti, daughter of the late Charlie and Zella Bruce Wilson, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life, where she owned and operated Mildred Beauty Shop for 23 years. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Matthews.

On Oct. 15, 1960, at Benton, she married Alfred Hill who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Dee and Charlie Loomes and Alicia and Van Loomes of East Prairie; six brothers, Ray Wilson of East Prairie, Norman and George Wilson of Puxico, Ronnie Wilson of Morley, Brian Wilson of Michigan and Charlie Wilson of Dover, Ark.; three sisters, Bonnie Boyd of Dover, Janie Barker of Campbell and Faye Brainer of Benton; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Loomes, Austin Loomes, Michael Loomes and Emily Loomes of East Prairie; and two great-grandchildren, Jaycie Loomes and Hunter Loomes of East Prairie.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bunk Wilson, Sharon Wilson and Freddie Wilson.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday. Rodney Dunlap and George Boyd will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.

Pallbearers will be: Joe Helms, Pete Henry, Lonnie Polk, Mike Johnson, Al Granger and Jerry Stallings.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Chris Polk, Jimmy Heath and Don Derriggins.
