Cora Morgan
EAST PRAIRIE - Cora Ann Jackson Morgan, 79, died at 12:15 p.m. Nov. 6, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born July 12, 1924, at Ridgely, Tenn., daughter of the late William "Pink" and Mary Moore Wilson, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She worked in the cafeteria and was a custodian for East Prairie R-2 schools. Active in the Foster Grandparent Program, she helped as a grandmother in the elementary grades and was a member of the First Baptist Church of East Prairie.
She married Charlie Jackson Aug. 8, 1941, and he died Feb. 7, 1977. She and Herschel Jackson were married Feb. 19, 1985, and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1996.
On April 8, 1999, she married William "Bill" Morgan who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Franklin and Travis Jackson of Pevely, Harold and Nina Jackson of Saginaw, Mich., and Billy and Martha Jackson of Glasgow, Ky.; one daughter and son-in-law, Lou and George Hale of Bonne Terre; three stepsons and one daughter-in-law, Dennis Morgan, David Morgan and Michael and Virginia Morgan of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one sister, Louise Razor of East Prairie; and 12 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren and stepgreat- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, W.P. Wilson and Lawrence Wilson; and one infant sister, Goldie Wilson.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday with Dale Billingsley officiating.
Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
