Fridis Pierce

BLOOMFIELD - Fridis Pierce, 92, died Oct. 30, 2003, at the Beverly Healthcare Center in Bloomfield.

Born Dec. 10, 1910, in Elizabeth, Ark., son of the late Dan and Della Womack Pierce, he lived in the Bloomfield area since 1940. He was a retired foreman for Swift and Company in Dexter.

On Nov. 30, 1931, he married Oletha Collins who preceded him in death on Aug. 30, 1983.

He and Velma Underwood were married Sept. 14, 1985, and she survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Wilma Hovis of Bloomfield; and two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

One daughter, one granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Eskew and the Rev. Dan Sitz officiating.

Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
