DEXTER - Amy Barnes, 91, died May 1, 2005, at her home in Dexter.
Born April 27, 1914, in Quitman, Ark., to the late Charles and Amy Ann Dawson, she had lived in Sikeston until 1979 when she moved to Dexter. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
On April 22, 1935, she married Alvin Barnes, who preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1995.
Survivors include: two sons, Wesley Barnes of Dexter and David Barnes of Houston, Texas; four daughters, Ruby Neal of Dexter, Shirley Bennett of Houston, Texas, Doris Baessler of St. Louis and Linda Kizer of Lawrence, Kan.; one brother, George Dawson of Clarksville, Texas; and 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Roy Gene Barnes, and one daughter, Juanita Smith.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday. H. Worth of Essex will officiate.
Burial will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
