Virgie Bledsoe
SIKESTON - Virgie Dale Bledsoe, 73, died Sept. 25, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born Dec. 10, 1928, in Center Ridge, Ark., daughter of the late Ira and Ella Clowers Jordan, she was a homemaker and member of Shady Acres Church of Christ.
In 1942, at Matthews, she married Leaston Bledsoe who preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 2002.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Nancy Bledsoe of Kelso; three daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and Darrell Ray of Sikeston, Betty and Richard Long of Hermitage, Tenn., and Shirley and Richard Phillips of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Vernie Russell of Clinton, Ark., and Dorris Kirkland of Dexter; and 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
Service were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel with Pat Hogan, minister of Shady Acres Church of Christ, officiating.
Burial followed in the Essex Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Art Ray, Darrell W. Ray, Buddy Cox, Tim Reeves, Richard K. Couch and Robert Ogden.
