Charlotte Basham

LILBOURN - Charlotte Basham, 71, died Sept. 25, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Dec. 20, 1930, in New Madrid, daughter of the late Horrell Henderson and Willia D. Richardson Townsend, she was a member of the Lilbourn VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the United Methodist Church in New Madrid.

On Jan. 8, 1949, she married Frank "Buddy" Basham who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Bruce Basham of St. Ann; one daughter, Fran Blake of St. Louis; two brothers, H.H. "Buddy" Townsend and David Townsend of New Madrid; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

One sister preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Lynn Quist, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
