Byron Smith

ST. LOUIS - Byron H. Smith, 98, died June 14, 2002, at National Health Care in Maryland Heights.

Born March 13, 1904, in Okawville, Ill., son of the late Joseph and Mary Juenger Smith, he lived in Puxico for many years before moving to St. Louis three years ago. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Puxico.

On April 23, 1927, in St. Louis, he married Elizabeth Rodgers who preceded him in death on March 6, 1999.

Survivors include: one daughter, Betty Muth of St. Louis; three grandchildren, Ralph Muth, Linda Ring and Vickie Strayhorn; and two great-granddaughters, Jennifer Ring and Kimberly Ring.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. Monday until service time at 1 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. The Rev. Marshall Link of Puxico will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Puxico Cemetery.
