Roy Stickles
DEXTER - Roy Lee Stickles, 66, died Oct. 2, 2002, in Dexter.
Born Sept. 8, 1936, in Dexter, son of Sylvia Pullum Stickles of Dexter and the late Virgil Stickles, he was a lifelong resident of Dexter. He was employed by Morgan Furniture in Dexter for many years before becoming a route man for the Daily Statesman.
On Sept. 18, 1967, in St. Louis, he married Sharon Politte who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: two sons, Roy Stickles Jr. of Bloomfield and Bruce Lee Stickles of Granite City, Ill.; six daughters, Tina Griffin, Toni Stickles and Linda Honeycutt of Dexter and Gwendolyn Askins, Rhondolyn and Joycelyn Wilson of Granite City; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
One brother, V.S. Stickles, preceded him in death in 1993.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Chuck Hull of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
