BENTON - The Sikeston ninth grade basketball team improved to 2-3 on the season with a 48-26 win at Kelly.
Sikeston led 12-8 after one quarter and extended the lead to 22-12 at halftime. The Bulldogs put the game away with a 15-2 run in the third quarter.
"We put together a solid game," said Sikeston coach Chris Sarakas. "Everybody had good intensity. We passed and shot it well tonight and we were strong on the boards. Everybody contributed and our bench came in and did a good job."
Sikeston was led in scoring by Scott Droddy's 12 points. Stephen Jackson had 10 points and Tommie Strong added eight points.
Chris Cooper led Kelly with nine points followed up by Cody Romas' seven points.
Sikeston won't play again until Jan. 3 when they host Notre Dame at 6 p.m.
