Pauline Maddox

DUDLEY - Pauline Ridenour Maddox, 79, died May 3, 2002, at Three Rivers Healthcare North in Poplar Bluff.

Born June 16, 1922, in Bernie, daughter of the late Timothy Albert and Lessie D. Harvey Ridenour, she lived in the Dudley area all her life and was a member of the Corinth General Baptist Church near Puxico. She had been employed by the Hickory Log in Dexter for many years. After her retirement, she worked as a caregiver for several people.

On Sept. 21, 1940, in Paragould, Ark., she married Jesse A. Maddox who preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1969.

Survivors include: two sons, Buddy Maddox Sr. of Portageville and Bennie H. Maddox of Worden, Ill.; one daughter, Peggie Miller of Puxico; one brother, Leon Ridenour of St. Louis; two sisters, Jewell Re of Crestwood and Vera Melton of Thayer; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Homer Ridenour and Alvin Ridenour; and one sister, Ada Sutton.

Services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico with the Rev. Bob Bradford of Chaffee officiating.

Burial followed in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico.
