Paul Conn

WYATT - Paul Harding Conn Sr., 79, died at 7:30 a.m. May 3, 2002, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born Sept. 15, 1921, in Mississippi County, son of the late David Elmer and Luella Keene Conn, he was a lifelong resident of Wyatt. Conn served with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, where he participated in battles in Italy, Sicily and North Africa. An honorary graduate of Charleston High School, he was a Kentucky colonel and duke of Paducah, Ky. He retired as co-owner of Conn's Station and Garage.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Conn, James Conn and David Conn.

Survivors include: one son, Paul Harding Conn Jr.; one sister, Thelma Layton; one sister-in-law, Cordelia Conn; and four nieces and four nephews.

No visitation is scheduled.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston with the Rev. Jerry Willer, minister of the United Methodist Church of East Prairie, officiating.

Lindsey's Funeral Home of Paducah, Ky., is in charge of arrangements.
