Rose Rice

SIKESTON - Rose N. Rice, 76, died at 3 a.m. May 9, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Aug. 9, 1925, in Clarksville, Ark., daughter of the late Jesse Monroe and Daisy Mooney Pratt, she attended Bird's Corner Assembly of God Church in Salcedo. She was a ship welder for American Shipbuilding in Lorain, Ohio, during World War II and had worked in food serves at Memorial Hospital in Michigan City, Ind.

She was first married to Joe V. Rose.

On Sept. 5, 1987, in New Buffalo, Mich., she married David G. Rice who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Glenn Monroe Rose of Ripley, Tenn.; one daughter, Barbara K. Coffman of New Buffalo; one brother, William Edgar Pratt of Sikeston; one sister, Anita Payton of Sikeston; one stepsister, Hazel Pratt of Dexter; one stepbrother, Virble Ross of Amherst, Ohio; and nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Dewey; and four brothers and three sisters.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Dan Marshall, pastor of Bird's Corner Assembly of God Church, will officiate, with remarks by the Rev. A.J. Wollenburg, pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church.

A committal service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo with Dennis Durnell officiating.

Pallbearers will be: Kris Roop, Cody Hamann, Stephen Donnelly, Michael Perkins, Vincent Lauricella and Matthew Grant.
