Woodie Payne

BLOOMFIELD - Woodie Payne, 88, died March 14, 2005, at the Beverly Healthcare.

Born Oct. 26, 1916, at Bath Springs, Tenn., daughter of the late William Allen and Kathalena Tucker Strawn, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield and a volunteer member of the Helping Hands at the First Baptist Church.

On Dec. 24, 1936, in Caruthersville, she married Charles Payne who preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 1995.

She was also preceded by: one son, John Payne; four brothers, Rex Strawn, Newton Strawn, Ben Strawn, and Robert Strawn; and one sister, Carolyn Newton.

Survivors include: one son, James Payne of Godley, Texas; three daughters, Martha Mann of Benton, Ky., Mary Mann of Pacific and Virginia DeGroot of Bloomfield; and 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-

great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until noon Saturday when services will begin at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Mike Arthur officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
