Robert Mather
SIKESTON -- Robert Hansberry Mather, 68, died at 7:15 a.m. July 29, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born Sept. 8, 1933, in Norfolk, Va., son of the late Paul Lukor and Mary Hansberry Mather, he had been a resident of Sikeston since 1971 and retired as a purchasing manager for Noranda Aluminum. A graduate of American University in Washington, D.C., he served as a U.S. Army corporal in the Korean War and was a member of the Catholic Church.
On Jan. 16, 1960, at Pomeroy, Ohio, he married Mary Theresa Meier who preceded him in death on Dec. 19, 1977.
On March 2, 1980, at New Madrid, he married Patricia Weber Copeland who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, James Cotton and Kathy Mather of Baton Rouge, La., and Stephen Brian Mather of Charleston; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Annette Marie and James Willis of Farmington, Paulette and Mark Boardman of Sikeston, Mary Colette and William Watson of Pinckney, Mich., and Jeanette Louise Mather of Bel Air, Md.; one stepson and daughter-in-law, Fred Weber and Sherry Copeland of New Madrid; two stepdaughters and son-in-law, Lisa and Gus Saettele of Ladue and Leslie Copeland of St. Louis; one brother, Richard Increase Mather of Williamsburg, Va.; and 18 grandchildren.
One brother and two sisters also preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. Wednesday until time for a memorial service at 8 p.m. at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
