SIKESTON - Addie Elizabeth Bixler, 89, of Sikeston and formerly of Canalou, died Oct. 29, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Oct. 20, 1914, in Braggadocio, daughter of the late Joseph and Effie Mae Ingram Hampton, she was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church.

On Sept. 15, 1932, in Caruthersville, she married Roy Bixler who preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1972.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles L. and Pat Bixler of Cape Girardeau and James Roy and Betty Bixler of Sikeston; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Shirley Alexander of Levelland, Texas, Annette and T.J. Dismuke of Caseyville, Ill., and Sue and Verlin Smith of Enid, Okla.; two brothers, George Hampton of Fayetteville, N.C., and Billy Joe Hampton of Hot Springs, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Vincent Bixler and Lisa Hardesty of Cape Girardeau, Debra Johnson and Keith Scott of Levelland, Kimberly Schilli, Bill Purdy and Robin Purdy of St. Louis, Shawna McWaters-Khalousi of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Tom Dismuke of Los Angeles, Calif.; two stepgrandchildren, Chuck McCann of Sikeston and Debra Buchanan of Blodgett; and 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one son, Joe B. Bixler; and three brothers and one sister.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston. The Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church, will officiate.
