Cotton Griffin

MOREHOUSE - James W. "Cotton" Griffin, 72, died July 29, 2002, at his home.

Born Oct. 29, 1929, in Morehouse, son of the late Alvia Griffin, he was a lifelong resident of Morehouse and retired from Associated Natural Gas Company.

Survivors include: one son, James David Griffin of Morehouse; one daughter, Donna Kaye Sladek of Ballwin; two sisters, Anna Anderson of New Madrid and Betty Sue Tooley of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren, Terri Duncan and David L. Griffin of Cape Girardeau, and Meridith Sladek of Ballwin, Michelle Griffin of Cape Girardeau and Adam Sladek of Ballwin; and three great-grandchildren, Jake Duncan, Brianna Duncan and Andrew Duncan.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. W.H. Worth of Essex will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Triplett Cemetery near Dexter.
