Clarence Twitty
MOREHOUSE - Clarence Twitty, 85, died March 20, 2002, at his home near Morehouse.
Born March 19, 1917, in Morehouse, son of the late John and Etta Evans Twitty, he was a lifelong resident of the Morehouse area and was a line superintendent for AmerenUE before retiring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had served in Alaska building the Alaska Highway.
On Nov. 14, 1953, in Tunica, Miss., he married Pauline Huddleston who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Larry Leroy Twitty of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Jean and Ralph Meier of Vilonia, Ark.; and one granddaughter, Letitia Meier of Conway, Ark.
One son, John Raymond Twitty, preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 1998.
Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Roger Record of Benton will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
