Mitchell McLard

SIKESTON - Mitchell McLard, 56, died Oct. 15, 2002, at his home.

Born Sept. 11, 1946, in Poplar Bluff, son of the late Franklin Earl and Rubie Lucille Tankersley McLard, he lived in Bennington, Neb., for 16 years before moving to Sikeston last April. He retired as a railroad mileage date engineer.

On Oct. 14, 1967, in Dexter, he married Carol Cossey who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Kelly Rodriguez of Fremont, Neb.; one son, Gregory McLard of Chicago, Ill.; four sisters, Elizabeth Burns and Pat Miller of Dexter, Frances McLard of Dudley and Ruth Worley of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Michael McLard of Chaffee and Ed McLard of Dexter; and four grandchildren.

One brother, J.R. McLard, preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jimmie Vent of Morehouse and the Rev. Billy Anders of Chaffee will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
